If I Were Coaching Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, Beyonce or Angelina Jolie . . .

I was recently interviewed by email by JAPANESE VOGUE MAGAZINE for an upcoming issue. Since we may never see the replies in English, and because she asked some fun questions, I'm going to post some of my replies.

"Q#1: If the celebrities below were your clients, what would you like to advise them? Please give three advices for them in short words."

-Lindsay Lohan
-Britney Spears
-Beyonce
-Angelina Jolie

If I were asked to coach Lindsay Lohan or Britney Spears, I would not give them advice, but would ask them these questions:

--What do you really want to create or experience in this next stage of your
life?
--What dreams do you have that you haven't had time to achieve?

Since Britney and Lindsay have both been working very hard since they were teenagers, it doesn't surprise me that we're seeing them have sort of public melt downs. My intuition, is that they would both benefit from taking some time off to get to know themselves better. It's never too late to have a happy childhood. Why not start now?

--I don't know a lot about Beyonce's life but I know she's worked very hard, achieved success in many areas, and has had her career managed by her father. I would ask Beyonce about some of the key lessons she learned in her life and ask her what she thought she wanted to create next. I have a feeling that when Beyonce starts to do more of the "inner work" and gets to know herself better, she'll be able to create amazing, deep works of art for a long time to come.

--Angelina seems to be making great progress in creating the life she wants. She's creating a family and relationship her way. Working when she wants on a wide range of projects both personal and commercial. She's not afraid to go out in public, have a life and speak her mind. She seems very wise and grounded for someone in the public eye as much as she is. She seems to have a great deal of honesty and integrity.

My intuition is that she can, and will, create a great philanthropic organization that creates huge social change through creative use of her talents, her celebrity and the opportunities.

I would ask Angelina what amazing things she sees for herself in the future? What is her vision for how she will continue to balance her political work with family and creative work.

Also, I'd ask her what are the ways she can best take care of herself so she doesn't get burned out. Self care is incredibly important for everyone, even the rich, famous and beautiful.

I like what you said about Beyonce, "I have a feeling that when Beyonce starts to do more of the "inner work" and gets to know herself better, she'll be able to create amazing, deep works of art for a long time to come." It's so true that looking within and noticing what feels good helps to bypass the obvious challenges of staying centered when inside a media driven fish bowl. Audiences would be wise to embrace David's advice in our own lives.
